BHUBANESWAR: The members of All Odisha Unemployed Old CT/BEd Association, whose strike entered seventh day on Sunday, decided to continue it to press their demand for immediate posting of the CT/BEd passouts between 1995-96 and 2000-01. Association president Gopabandhu Muduli said they resorted to the agitation as thousands of CT/BEd passouts remain deprived of government posting because of the faulty policy.

“Though we cleared our examinations, most of us failed to get jobs as the then Congress Government did not make appointment from 1995 to 2000,” Muduli said. “When BJD came to power, it did not consider our case and appointed 22,000 Ganasikshyak without any training,” he added.

“Untrained graduates and matriculates were appointed as teachers but nearly 10,000 CT/BEd candidates were ignored in spite of having requisite training and qualification,” Muduli claimed. The Association said there are a large number of vacancies in government schools and the State Government should consider the case of the CT/BEd batches of 1995 to 2001 on a priority basis during recruitment.
