DHENKANAL: Former BJD MLA Nabin Nanda, reportedly missing since Saturday night, has been traced in Kolkata. As per reports, Nanda’s wallet and other belongings were stolen at a lane in West Bengal’s Capital while he was shopping at around 8.30 pm on Saturday. As a result, he could not contact his home or relatives. He was also abused by the miscreants.

His son Sambit Nanda said his father had left for Kolkata on Thursday and was in contact with the family members till Friday. However, the family members failed to establish any contact with him since Saturday evening. Sabmit, who flew to Kolkata to search for his father, had also filed a missing case with the police there in connection with the incident. Nabin was scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar on Sunday. His father is now safe and sound, he added.

However, police are yet to recover the belongings stolen from the former MLA.
On Sunday, the matter sent shockwaves among the locals as earlier Nanda had  narrowly escaped an attack while he was campaigning in his constituency.  Nabin had been elected as MLA from Gondia constituency with a BJD ticket in 2000 and again from Dhenkanal constituency in 2009 with NCP ticket.
