Heavy to very heavy rain forecast at isolated places in State

The State meteorological centre has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in some isolated places of the state on Monday. Issuing an alert on Sunday, the meteorological centre forecast that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places especially in Dehradun, Pithoagarh, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar, Tehri and Pauri districts on Monday. Otherwise, the State is likely to experience a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain/thunderstorm most likely to occur at most places.

Director of the state meteorological centre, Bikram Singh said, “Alert has been issued about the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some isolated places of the State.

The prediction shows that most likely Uttarakhand is going to receive rainfall on Monday.”

 He further said that in Dehradun, the weather may remain cloudy at first and change during the midday. The city is most likely to receive thunder and rainfall. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Dehradun are likely to be about 32 degree Celsius and 23 degree Celsius respectively on Monday, he added.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in the various places of the state on Sunday were 32.2 ºC and 23.6 ºC respectively in Dehradun, 33.6 ºC and 25.1 ºC in Pithoragarh, 21.8 ºC and 15.8 ºC in Mukteshwar and 24 ºC and 17.8 ºC respectively in New Tehri.
