Shake-up in 13 district units of DMK, functionaries in 3 units replaced

DMK functionaries of various unions and towns have been reshuffled in 13 districts. Besides, the functionaries of three districts units have also been replaced.

CHENNAI: DMK functionaries of various unions and towns have been reshuffled in 13 districts. Besides, the functionaries of three districts units have also been replaced. K Anbazhagan, DMK general secretary, has stated that reshuffling has been made following a district-wise field inspection of party working president MK Stalin.

The union secretaries of Melur and Kottampatti in Madurai north district unit have been replaced, as also the union secretaries of Sellampatti, Sedappatti, Thirumangalam town in Madurai south district unit, Periyakulam town and union, Theni union, Chinnamanur, Uththamapalayam and Kambam town in Theni district, Kalaiyarkoil and Sakkottai east in Sivagangai district, Mandapam west and Naiyinarkoil unions in Ramanathapuram district, Radhapuram, Seranmahadhevi, Nanguneri, Ambasamuthiram unions in Tirunelveli east district unit, Kuruvikulam, Melaneelithanallur, Alangulam North, Sankaranakoil town in Thirunelveli west district unit. 

Likewise, various union secretaries have been replaced in Tirunelveli central district unit, Thoothukudi north and south district units, Kanniyakumari east and west district units.Besides, district units of Madurai urban south and north have been clubbed into a single entity called Madurai urban unit for which a team of 10 in-charge members has been announced under the leadership of K Thalapathi, former MLA. Kambam Ramakrishnan has been put in charge of Theni district instead of M Jeyakumar while K Muthuramalingam has been appointed as in-charge of Ramanathapuram.
