Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The athletes of Madhya Pradesh State Karate Championship- Gargi Singh Parihar, Vandana Yadav and Saloni Patidar, who won the silver medal in the Team Kata event of 17th Asian Karate Championship (Cadet Junior and Under-21) held in Okinawa, Japan, met with the Sports Director Dr. S.L. Thaosen and familiarize him with their achievement.
The Director appreciated their brilliant performance with warm congratulations. He motivated them to keep up the good work and win more medals in upcoming competitions.
Chief Coach Mr. Jaidev Sharma, who was present on the occasion, told that it was for the first time that the academy’s athletes had reached the final and won silver.
It is noteworthy that, the team comprising Gargi, Vandana, and Saloni thrashed Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Indonesia in the first round, quarterfinal and semi-final respectively to win the silver medal.
