4,100 complaints received under Jan Manch

Around 4,100 grievances were received under the second ‘Jan Manch’ programme organised in various parts of Himachal by the State Government on Sunday.

The Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur expressed satisfaction over the success of ‘Jan Manch’ programmes  and said that apart from quick redressal of public grievances, this programme was proving to be a good feedback mechanism to the government and would go a long way in formulating and modifying policies and programmes as per the aspirations of the people.

He said that Jan Manch had provided a good platform to the common masses to raise their grievances and other issues before the administration and government and it was also helping in speedy redressal of their problems at their door-steps.

He added that this programme had proved to be multi-dimensional and yielding results more than expected.

The Speaker, HP Vidhan Sabha and all the Cabinet Ministers presided over the ‘Jan Manch’ programmes in various parts of the state.

Around 4100 cases were received during these programmes out of which 2129 were disposed off on the spot and rest have been sent to the concerned departments for speedy redressal. Besides, Allopathic and Ayurvedic medical camps were also organised in which a large number of people turned out for check-up.

Various types of certificates were also issued besides registration of youth clubs and providing HP domicile certificate during this programme.

In Mandi district, Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar launched the new campaign 'Sambal' of district administration started in coordination with the Health Department and district Red Cross Society during a function organised in Swamahun Panchayat in Karsog sub-division. This campaign aims at providing free medical check-up and treatment facility to the senior citizens, aged above 60 of the far-flung areas.

On the occasion, the Health Minister said that health camps would be organised at the door-steps of the senior citizens by deputing specialist doctors and providing facility for various medical tests besides distributing medicines accordingly at their homes. The District Red Cross Society would bear the expenses in case any person is required to be sent to higher health institution for further treatment, he said.

The Health Minister also inaugurated another camp at Karsog organised by the Ayurveda department on awareness about anal and rectum diseases. The doctors would voluntarily give free treatment facility for these diseases on public holidays by organising camps in various areas of the state, he added.

In Mandi district, total 220 grievances were received and 150 cases were disposed off on the spot during ‘Jan Manch’ programme. In addition, 77 cases were also settled out of 83 received before the event.

Agriculture Minister Ram Lal Markanda presided over the function at Becher Ka Bag in Sirmour district and directed the officers to decide the remaining cases of people's grievances within 15 days. He announced to open the seed distribution centre at Becher Ka Bag so that farmers could get high quality seeds and implements in time.

In Sirmour district, 1400 cases were received and 1063 were settled on the spot and remaining 387 have been referred to the departments concerned while in Solan, 258 cases were received and 14 were settled on the spot.

In Chamba, 341 cases were received and 96 were disposed off on the spot.

Besides, 238 complaints were received earlier out of which 78 were settled on Sunday. The function was organised at Garonta panchayat of Bhatiyat constituency which was presided over by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar.

The Minister said that a pilot project would be launched from Chamba district on  October 2 for artificial insemination.

While presiding over the programme at Dumehar in Solan district, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj directed the officers of Town and Country Planning department to be present in next Jan Manch as most of the cases received were related to this department. The Minister honoured also the new born girls and also provided FD under Beti Hai Anmol scheme to various beneficiaries.

Power Minister Anil Sharma while presiding over the function in Jiya Panchayat in Palampur Assembly segment of Kangra district distributed kits to 36 new born girls and also distributed financial assistance to seven families who were affected by natural calamities. More than 1800 people from 13 panchayats participated in the programme. The Minister directed to settle the remaining cases within ten days.

As many as 260 cases were received during the programme out of which 49 were settled on the spot. Besides 52 cases were received before the ‘Jan Manch’ programme which had been already settled.

In Shimla, 31 cases were received and 19 were disposed off on the spot.
