HYDERABAD: True to the Telugu saying Sathruvuku Sathruvu Mithrudu (your enemy’s enemy is your friend), Congress Party has begun uniting all forces that are opposed to the rule of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, including their own arch-rival TDP. By doing so, the grand old party is hoping to challenge the supremacy of the ruling TRS, by donning the role of a ‘big brother’, even as speculations are rife of the possibility of early polls in the State.

Or so was claimed by Kodangal MLA and Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, who joined the Congress from TDP. Revanth, known for hurling high-voltage dialogues at the ruling establishment, said all political parties in the State were gradually emerging into two alliances -- a pro-KCR front and an anti-KCR front. According to him, the pro-KCR front consists of TRS, BJP and AIMIM as these three parties have “tacit understanding with one another.”

“Rest of the political parties in the State, which oppose KCR’s rule are gradually coming under one roof. The Congress is taking the lead to unite all other parties and people’s organisations to defeat the ruling party. TDP, which is against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, has no option but to join hands with this anti-KCR Front,” Revanth said, while interacting with the editorial team of the Express here on Sunday.

“KCR is working as an agent of Modi. As the TDP is against Modi, there is no option for the yellow party, but to join hands with the Congress in TS. Congress will play big brother role and coordinate with all other like-mined parties to unseat CM KCR,” he added.

“NTR in 1989 and Naidu in 2004 were defeated only for considering themselves as most important, by not paying heed to the advices of their ministers. In case of KCR, he is ruling the State like a tyrant. His ministers are all dummies. This is contrary to the objectives of the Telangana movement, which was built on three key goals - self-respect, self-rule and social justice. Hence, people of Telangana are sure to vote KCR out of power, despite his welfare schemes,” claimed Revanth.
