MYSURU: A newly married woman, who deserted her husband to reunite with her lover, is now seeking police protection. The woman had left her husband’s house in Bengaluru two days ago and is currently in Mysuru city.

The woman was in a relationship with one Rakshit from 10th cross, Ashokapuram here, for the past nine years and was allegedly forcibly married to Prathap of K G Halli in Bengaluru two months ago. On June 30, she came to Mysuru and met Rakshit who arranged her stay in a paying guest accommodation.

But on learning that her in-laws have lodged a missing person’s complaint at Gangammana Gudi police station in Bengaluru, the woman, accompanied by her lover, came to the Ashokapuram police station here on Sunday and filed a petition seeking protection.
