KOCHI: Noting down daily expenses in a book is a common practice among people. But while travelling or returning from working late at night, it might be difficult to remember the day-long activities and note down the final expenses. How about if you have an app where you can put down the expense and the item name as and when you pay the bill.
This is what a new app, Smart Home Accounts Book, developed by Raghunath N B does. “Today, most people own a smartphone and it has become an inseparable part of their life. With my app, they can keep a track of their expenses soon after they complete the transaction saving them the trouble of maintaining an expenses diary,” said Raghunath. He mentioned the app will be a major help to housewives who make a note of the smallest household expenses.
“If you eat out and have your phone with you, it is easy to note it down right away. While calculating the monthly expenses, you can also understand where your money is spent more as the item is also recorded,” said Raghunath. He noted a book might easily be lost or one has to sit down and remember all the expenses made during the day, which might be a tiresome job.
Raghunath said the app assures 100 per cent privacy as one enters by creating a username and password. “Also, in one phone many accounts could be created thereby helping the whole family. Each one can track their own expenses by logging into their account,” he said. The app is also easy to use with five or six, he added.
A week into its launch, Raghunath said it is receiving rave reviews and has already recorded 500 downloads. The app is available in Google Play Store and can be downloaded free and is expected to start in iOS soon.
