Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that an offender’s social status will not be an obstacle to bring him or her before law.
Inaugurating the new Pinarayi police station here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that the case of assault on an actress in the State had proved that the police force in the State was not shackled in bringing before the law the accused in sensational incidents. Police personnel should work as per the law, he said, adding that there would not be any intervention from the government in violation of the law. The personnel who violated the law would be brought before the law, he added. P.K. Sreemathy, MP, presided. A.N. Shamseer, MLA, Director General of Police Loknath Behera, and Additional Director General of Police (North Zone) Anil Kanth were present.
