‘Scuffle’ at Sector 50 society over upkeep

GURUGRAM: Some residents of Wembley Estate, an upscale condominium in Sector 50, alleged on Saturday that a scuffle broke out between employees of the RWA-appointed new maintenance agency CBRE and bouncers hired by the developer in the morning over upkeep of the society.

Eros Group, the developer, however, denied the allegation.

Residents said they had unilaterally decided to take over the maintenance of the condominium on June 10 from the developer. “At the annual general meeting of RWA, over 100 members voted in favour of such a move. Later we hired a new agency to look after maintenance, but when some staffers from the agency came to familiarise themselves with the society on Saturday morning, some eight to 10 bouncers of the builder came and stopped them. There was a scuffle after which the staff left,” said a resident.

According to residents, the issue revolves around the transfer of maintenance to RWA from the builder. “For the past five years, we were trying to convince the builder to transfer the maintenance to RWA,” said Pankaj Dhar, a resident.

A spokesperson for the Eros Group said, “We have already agreed to transfer the maintenance to the RWA. There are some issues with regards to RWA formation which will happen in two months and the residents will regularise everything.”
