BHUBANESWAR: ODISHA Telecom Circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plans to expand high speed broadband services through fibre network. Chief General Manager (CGM) Satyananda Naik said the broadband services will be strengthened across the State by using fibre-tothe- home (FTTH) technology, which is presently available at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Naik on Saturday launched new landline broadband combo plans and a new tariff plan besides extending its free data limit on selected plans to woo customers.
The new landline combo connections are expected to cater unlimited calling to any network and un-limited data with speed up to 20 Mbps at just `99, `199, `299 and `491 per month with bundled data of 45 GB, 150 GB, 300 GB and 600 GB per month respectively as a promotional offer. Naik said keeping in view the rising data requirement, BSNL has shifted its focus from speedbased to volume-based broadband connection. “As the dependency of customers on mobile data has increased during the football World Cup-2018, we have extended the free data limit on selected plans by extra two GB per day till August 16,” he informed. The CGM emphasised that BSNL has always been the driver of any change in tariff.
“It is the only operator in the market to offer one GB data at just `7 and two GB data at `13,” he said. A new tariff - Patanjali BSN- 144 plan - has also been launched. Initially, BSNL, which has teamed up with Patanjali, has introduced the plan for members of Patanjali family and Swadeshi Samriddhi card members. The plan includes unlimited voice calling to any network all over India, 2GB internet data per day and 100 SMS per day for 30 days. Others using Patanjali products can also avail the BSNL Patanjali plan on paying `100 extra towards Swadeshi Samrudhi Card, which offers accidental benefits up to `5 lakh.
