Rowing players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy exhibit impressive show

The rowing players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy exhibited an impressive show at Asian junior rowing championship and bagged two silver medals.

Players Mangal Singh, Nitesh Bhardwaj, Rohit Sandhaw and Vijay Pal Singh gave the country two silver medals in the Asian junior rowing championship held at Chung Joo in Bandharan. The championship was held from June 25 to 30. Representing the Indian team, the duo of Academy player Mangal Singh and Nitesh Bharadwaj won Junior Quarterpool School and Rohit Sandhaw and Vijay Pal Singh won the Junior boys in the main Coxless Four event.

State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia expressed her happiness and congratulated them for the outstanding performances in the Asian Junior Rowing Championship. The Sports Minister congratulated Captain Dalbir Singh, Chief Instructor of the Rowing Academy for this achievement achieved by the players in the Asian Junior Rowing Championship.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare S.L. Thoussen also appreciated the excellent performance of the players of Water Sports Academy and said that with the efforts of the Sports Minister, Madhya Pradesh is achieving new heights in the field of sports. The result of high level sports facilities being provided to the players and better sports training is the fact that Academy players are honoring the country and the State by winning medals in international tournaments.

Meanwhile, the karate players of Madhya Pradesh State Karate Academy brought laurels to the State by bagging silver medals in 17th Asian Karate Championship (Cadet Junior and Under-21) held in Okinawa City, Japan. Players Gargi Singh Parihar, Vandana Yadav and Saloni Patidar of Madhya Pradesh State Karate Academy after this achievement met Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department SL Thoussen on Saturday.

Thoussen congratulated them for the outstanding performances by the Academy players in the Asian Karate Championship. Encouraging the medal winners, he said that they have to perform similarly in the forthcoming events, and bring glory to the state.

The Chief Instructor of the Academy, Jaydev Sharma said that this is the first time that the players of the Madhya Pradesh Karate Academy entered the final of the Asian Karate Championship and won the silver medal.
