LUCKNOW: Two days after the data related to increase in chunk of Indian money stashed in Swiss banks by 50 per cent was released, BSP chief Mayawati launched an all-out attack on Modi-led NDA government accusing PM and his team of being in connivance with rich capitalists and corporate of the country in sending the money out.

Releasing a statement to the media here on Sunday, the BSP chief asked the Centre whether the money stashed in Swiss banks belonged to his favourite corporate who are allegedly close to the Central government. The BSP chief also exhorted the PM to accept the fact that his government had failed in bringing the black money back and depositing Rs 15 lakh in the accounts of poor and downtrodden as was promised during 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Mayawati also sought answers from the Centre and the RSS as to how the poor were becoming poorer in the country while the rich were growing richer with a palpable rise in their income. Terming the ambitious 'Ujjawala' scheme as 'nothing but an hogwash and a false propaganda', the BSP chief said it was being delivered to an identified section of society.

She raised questions over the devaluation of rupee as compared to dollar and the status of country's economy. However, stretching the thread further, Mayawati also responded to PM's Maghar jibe over opposition's unity by saying that it was an alliance for the sake of poor and backward of the country. The PM in Maghar rally on Thursday had accused the arch rivals of joining hands for the greed of power.

The BSP chief claimed that opposition alliance against the arrogant BJP was for the welfare of the people of the country. She claimed that the ruling party was well aware of the result of such an alliance and 'so was getting uncomfortable'. She reminded the BJP as to how opposition's unity gave adverse results to the ruling dispensation in 1967, 1977 and 1989.

Meanwhile, she also touched Mandsaur rape case deamdning strict action against the BJP MLA from Mandsaur (MP) Sudharshan Gupta for asking parents of the rape victim, 7, to thank the party MP Sudhir Gupta for visiting them. However, Gupta reportedly apologized for his comment later but the development handed out ammo to opposition to attack the ruling party in the state. Mayawati said that the statement of BJP lawmaker not only reeked of insensitivity towards the victim and her family but also exposed his attempt to politicize the incident.
