Nikki Pradhan in Indian Team

Nikki Pradhan has been selected from Ranchi Railway Division in Indian team for Women’s Hockey World Cup which has been scheduled from July 5 to August5  in London. She has been a railway employee and now she will play for India. On this occasion the railways officials DRM Vijay Kumar Gupta, ADRM Vijay Kumar and Ajit Singh extended their hearty congratulations to her. Out of 18 players in the Indian Women’s Hockey team 14 girls belong to the railway divisions.

Nutrition campaign inaugurated

Garhwa DC Neha Arora inaugurated the Nutrition Campaign in Garhwa headed by the District Social Welfare Department. The officials of Anganwadi Centre and Sevika Sahayika were roped in at the first place for the campaign. This was followed by an awareness rally that reached out to people in and around the city. The Deputy Commissioner also addressed the public with respect to the glitches caused by malnutrition in development of the society. Not only the Government but also the common people need to join hands for the same. The event was also attended by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar Keshri, Balamukund Sinha, Imtiaz Khan and ANIM.

Learning trip of SBPS

SBPS, Ranchi organised an experiential learning for the students of Grade III to IV, V and IX. They visited the ‘Science Centre’, Ranchi wherein they learned science through fun. They saw the musical bars, Interactive Sundials, Models of Resources of Jharkhand, Agriculture and Wildlife of Jharkhand. They also saw the working of Ispat Iron Industry and Production of Crude Steel. The pupils of Grade IX visited Hindalco Industries situated in Muri. Hindalco Industries is considered to be the world’s largest aluminum rolling company and one of the biggest producers of primary aluminium in Asia. The pupils were shown a presentation at Alumina Club about the extraction of alumina from bauxite ore.
