KOCHI: The pier portion of an under-construction Metro pillar buckled on Saturday afternoon triggering panic among the people.

The construction work was not affected. The engineers visited  the site ,” a DMRC spokesman said. The Kochi Metro spokesperson though pleaded ignorance about the incident. “Since the construction activities are carried out by the DMRC, we are not clued in on the incident. The DMRC may report the matter to us later,” the spokesperson said.
