Cops in Parkal can now monitor all streets and important junctions in the town. A command control centre was set up at the police station connected with as many as 373 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
Inaugurating the facility, Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary noted that the CCTV cameras would help keep constant vigil and also instil a sense of fear among mischief-mongers. The facility at Parkal would help the police monitor localities such as Parkal, Atmakur, Damera and Shayampet mandal.
City Police Commissioner V. Ravinder said low crime rate can attract more investors, bringing in more development and more jobs to any town or city. He urged the residents to come forward and install CCTV facilities in their localities for security.
“We are trying to set up more command control rooms in various localities and they would be connected with the CCTV cameras to the police stations in the respective jurisdiction,” he said, adding that they are aiming at shaping Warangal into a crime-free city.
