A little boy is on his way to being able to ride his very own bike for the first time thanks to the kindhearted efforts of his school.
Hayden Holding, who has cerebral palsy, has become the focus of a fundraising drive to get him a specialised trike costing almost £1,200.
The seven-year-old’s parents Gemma and Jamie, from Colwyn Bay , said seeing him on the saddle would “mean the world” to them all.
The couple admitted even watching him have a go on a trial bike was enough to bring tears to their eyes.
Gemma said: “Hayden has never been able to ride a bike and, although he can walk short distances, he relies on his wheelchair to get about.

“His school, Ysgol Nant y Groes, was having Healthy Week where all the children walk or cycle in.
“Obviously, Hayden can’t do that, although he has had a go on a trial bike.
“It was amazing even watching him on that. We were all crying. We’ve never seen him so happy.”
The 27-year-old mum-of-two added: “The school came up with the idea to raise £400 towards a specialised trike, which will cost £1,174.
“On Wednesday, two of his fantastic teachers, Mr Jackman and Mr Williams, did a sponsored bike ride from the school to the Great Orme, cycled 10 laps around it, and then rode back.
“The school and all the parents have given donations and money is still pouring in.
“We are overwhelmed by the effort everyone has gone to to help.”
Jamie added: “If he gets a trike, I doubt you’ll see him in his wheelchair as much.”
Hayden was three years old when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which affects movement and co-ordination.
But in spite of his struggles, he’s never let anything get in his way.
Gemma said: “Hayden didn’t start walking until he was two and, although we had concerns, we were told there was nothing wrong.
“But when he was three, he was hospitalised with Scarlet fever and the paediatrician sent him for an MRI scan and that’s when the cerebral palsy was detected.
“All we want for our son is to be able to do the things other children do, so having his own trike would make a massive difference to him.
“It would be amazing to be able to get him one. It’s something he’s always wished for and we’ve all wished for.
“We’re well on the way to being able to get him one now thanks to all the support and fundraising.
“Once we do, there’ll be no stopping him.”
