He was addressing the state student wing conference of the party. Stalin, who explained the history of the DMK and the role of student wing in the development of the party, said, “It was because of students’ active participation in the anti-Hindi struggle and their support to the party, we were able to capture power in the state in 1967. Students of these days should keep up with that spirit to strengthen the party.” 

Meanwhile, Stalin said that a thorough study on the party base has been undertaken in the recent days by him and he was in the process of making strong decisions for the welfare of the party.

“I will not tolerate those who undermining the party’s growth. A few days ago, a few functionaries of the party in Kongu region were removed from the posts following the review meetings conducted by me. In next few days, announcement would come pertaining to the south zone,” Stalin said.

Attacking actors turning politicians now-a-days, Stalin giggled that they want to become chief ministers just after launching a party.

“DMK contested in the 1957 election, though the party was launched in 1949. But now-a-days, a party without even having a name is embarked on the task of appointing booth-level functionaries.

Another party has gone to get recognition from the Election Commission.

They want to become the chief minister even before establishing the party,” he said

Responding to the recent orders of Governor Banwarilal Purohit on his inspections across the state and the arrest of the people opposing his inspections, Stalin said “DMK will not be afraid of imprisonments. I myself will go to that district and lead black flag protest condemning his visit,” he stressed.

Many resolutions were passed, including demanding permanent exemption for the state from NEET, waiver of educational loans of unemployed graduates, condemning the Governor’s interference in the state affairs and condemning of killing of journalist in Kashmir.
