NMDC congratulates Young Achiever J. Sai Agni Jeevitesh

NMDC Ltd Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) N. Baijendra Kumar, IAS, has congratulated J. Sai Agni Jeevitesh from Hyderabad who won Bronze medal in “ASEAN age group chess championship” at Davoa city, Philippines recently, a company press release informed on Saturday.

He is one among the nine players who participated from India and was the lone medal winner from India who achieved International Chess Title Norm. Earlier to this, Agni secured the first norm in Serbia during April 2018 and crossed Elo 2400 rating.

NMDC has extended support to Agni and is encouraging him to participate in international tournaments.

The company had supported Agni earlier also for his European international level chess events.

NMDC has always been recognizing and nurturing sports talent of youth under its CSR activities, the press release informed.

Recently NMDC sponsored training of  Siddarth Pratap Singh and Jayditya Pratap Singh belonging to Chhattisgarh State, who are International/National level Badminton players, and will be obtaining requisite training and participating in international tournaments in different countries with the financial support from NMDC.

NMDC is supporting establishment of ‘Eklavya Khelkud Prakalp’, a sports facility for tribals at Raipur, state capital and is also partnering with Sports and Youth Welfare department, Government of Chhattisgarh for constructing a Sports Complex in Bastar district.

The company is also extending financial support to Madhya Pradesh Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Bhopal for development of infrastructure for promotion of water sports and conduct of an international tournament for Canoeing and Kayaking.
