In Jammu & Kashmir, five members of a family including a woman and two children were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Bandipora district today.

The accident occurred when a vehicle in which they were traveling skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge.

The vehicle was on its way to Gurez from Bandipora when it met with the accident at Tragbal area of mountainous Gurez.

The condition of one injured passenger is stated to be critical who is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Sania told AIR that the deceased include husband-wife and their two children.

Another deceased was the relative of the deceased family. The deceased are natives of Purana Tulail tehsil of Gurez sub division of Bandipora district.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and further investigations have been initiated.
