Wild birds rescued from a vehicle in Dharamsala, driver held

The officials of Himachal Pradesh forest department recovered some wild birds from a vehicle in Dharamsala. A Himalayan Goral of deer family was also recovered. The driver of the vehicle was taken in custody by the forest department. A case has been registered this regard and an investigation is underway. ‘The forest department officials caught six birds from a vehicle, one dead and five alive, and brought them to the police station. Police filed an FIR in this regard and a raid was conducted at a particular place, where a Himalayan Goral was also found. The proceedings under Wild Life Protection Act are going on. The driver of the vehicle has been detained,’ said Santosh Patial, SP, Kangra.
