| | DALTONGANJ | in Ranchi

Palamu police recovered Rs 47,50,000 cash out of Rs 54 lakh, which was snatched from ICICI branch here on June 15. The recovery of Rs 47. 50 lakh cash has been made in Bihar and West Bengal.

Police recovered Rs 12,50,000 only in Bihar Katihar’s Korha police station where one criminal Veeru Yadav alias Banjara had taken down this snatched cash and had kept in a makeshift house there. Cash was recovered but not this Banjara here, who gave a slip.

Police recovered Rs 35 lakh from West Bengal New Jalpaiguri’s Rajganj where two other criminals Beerain Gwala and Bijender Gwala had taken down Rs 18 lakh and Rs 17 lakh respectively and here too police got the cash but not these two Gwalas who are still at large.

SP Indrajeet Mahatha said there is one thing common here at both the places. Women of these three can get down to any obscene posture or gesture to save their men as when he said our police team reached these two places the women there showed their body assets probably to distract our team but Palamu police spurned all those indirect temptations and carried out its job well.

On June 15 ICICI bank’s 54 lakh was being transported on a bike from branch to CMS vehicle about 200 meters away from the branch and here these three two Gwalas and one Banjara on another bike outwitted the ICCI personnel and decamped with cash bag worth 54 lakh.

Police released the footages of these 3 and promised one lakh for information on them. It clicked. DSP Premnath got a call claiming to identify one of the three and from here the case got started unfolding added SP.

Palamu police went to UP, MP, West Bengal and Bihar but finally laid its hands on cash only in West Bengal and Bihar. Police traversed nearly 5,000 Kms in the country in search of them. It was in Muradabad where Palamu police got its green leaf. The modus operandi of the three here matched with the MO of a crime of identical nature in Muradabad too where others like these three had snatched bank cash. DIG Vipul Shukla and SP Mahatha were finding it difficult to hide their happiness over this biggest recovery of the biggest ever snatching as well.
