Machilipatnam Urban Development Authority (MUDA) vice-chairman P. Wilson Babu and some experts from the Royal Haskoning DHV, a consulting firm, on Saturday reviewed the progress of the master plan here.
The team of the consulting firm comprising urban planners and other experts have shared their ideas on developing various zones in the MUDA area, with focus on the key junctions in the port town and identifying heritage sites and backwater tourism.
The demographic study, availability of urban space for various infrastructure facilities, management of water resources, the potential for tourism along the coastal belt were a few areas which have been studied by the experts.
Public opinion
The MUDA and the consulting firm have scheduled to conduct a consultative meeting with all stakeholders to gather their views on the needs of the port town in future.
The views of local women and communities would also be taken and included in the master plan.
In a joint meeting attended by an expert from CBRE India Limited, Royal Haskoning DHV and Mr. Wilson Babu, various possibilities to attract investors to MUDA for setting up agri-based and other industries were discussed.
Mr. Wilson Babu urged the CBRE to provide data on the investors keen on investing in MUDA.
