MYSURU: Former minister and JD(S) MLA A H Vishwanath has criticised Kaginele Kanaka seer for warning against cornering former chief minister Siddaramaiah in coalition politics.“Where were the seer and Kuruba organisations when injustice was done to me?” he asked.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Vishwanath said it was Siddaramaiah who harassed and created trouble for him for no reason. Recalling that he was instrumental in bringing Siddaramaiah to the Congress fold, Vishwanath said Kanaka seer and Kuruba Sangha are only to speak in favour of Siddaramaiah.
He said people should know why were the seer and Kuruba Sangha silent when Siddaramaiah did not induct even one member from the community into the cabinet for four years. Referring to pro-politician statements of Mata Mahadevi, Nanjavadootha and Kagimele Swamiji, he said it is unfair on their part to defend or lobby on behalf of politicians posing a threat to democracy.
He felt the seers should speak against social evils like problems of farmers and not on behalf of politicians. Vishwanath said the coalition government will complete five years in office. It is the Congress that gave unconditional support and not Siddaramaiah, he said.
The state has seen too many chief ministers in the past but no one tried to project or take credit for everything, he added. Alleging that Siddaramaiah is interfering in the coalition government, Vishwanath said he was denied ministerial post due to the intervention of the former chief minister.
