Woman dies in train; hubby detained

A woman died inside a train under mysterious circumstances at the Brahmapur railway station on Saturday.

According to police sources, Krushna Chandra Nayak (31) of Bhangarada village under the Gangapada police limits in Ganjam district, who resides in Surat with his wife Sujata (27) and a two-year-old son, was returning home along with them by the Okha-Puri Express train.

The woman was ill for the last few days and refused to have food on Friday. Later, she stopped responding late in night, said her husband. After the train reached the Berhampur station, Nayak admitted his wife to a hospital, where a doctor declared her brought dead.

Police started investigation into the incident detaining Nayak for questioning. The body was seized and sent for postmortem.
