NAGPUR: Former chairman of Nagpur University’s Mass Communication Board Sunil Mishra, who was arrested in a fraud case, was on Sunday granted bail. Ganeshpeth police who had earlier procured PCR of Mishra on June 28, had appealed for MCR on Sunday.

Mishra was arrested on June 27 in the fraud case registered by nine students of his own institute, Central India Institute of Mass Communication (CIIMC). The students had alleged that Mishra had given them admission in his institute but did not submit their examination fees in university because of which they were not able to appear for their final year examination.

TOI, on December 9, had first reported about fate of CIIMC students. Since their results and degrees were withheld, they couldn’t seek admission in postgraduate courses and also lost jobs.
