Malavalli cops throw baby shower for staff

The police personnel were given fruits, sweets and other items.

MYSURU: It was a pleasant surprise for women constables — Prema and Sruthi — when the staff in Malavalli Town police station organised Seemantham, a traditional baby shower ritual performed by in-laws to send pregnant woman to her parents’ house. Both the constables are in the seventh month of their pregnancy.

The police personnel were given fruits, sweets and other items. The policemen blessed the would-be mothers for good health and prosperity. Inspector Srikanth said the staff working in the police station are like a family. 

He said the function will further strengthen the bond of mutual respect among the staff.
While sub-inspector Shivamadiah said the baby shower at police station proves that cops are people-friendly. Families of retired police constables, DSP Malik and inspector Gangadhar graced the occasion. 
Baby showers in PU college staff of government pre-university college in Nagamangala also conducted baby shower to teacher Vinay E Shetty. The staff presented saree, fruits, sweets and other items.
