A.P. CM gives assurance on steel plant

Telugu Desam Party Rajya Sabha member C.M. Ramesh and MLC “B. Tech” Ravi on Saturday ended their indefinite fast demanding a steel plant in Kadapa, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu serving them lemon juice on the Zilla Parishad office premises in Kadapa.

While Mr. Ramesh’s fast had entered the 11th day, Mr. Ravi was under treatment at RIMS hospital.

The Chief Minister, who arrived Kadapa by a special flight, drove straight to the venue and had a detailed talk with the doctors attending on Mr. Ramesh. Mr. Naidu went through the medical reports for about 10 minutes. He also interacted with members of the family of the fasting leaders.

Mr. Ramesh was reluctant to call off his fast, but Mr. Naidu persuaded him saying his life was important and that the steel plant could definitely be achieved.

After Mr. Ramesh agreed, the Chief Minister served lemon juice to him and to Mr Ravi, who was brought to the venue by a team of doctors.
