Eleven members of a family found dead at a house in Delhi's Burari
NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, bodies of eleven members of a family were found at a house in Delhi's Burari area early on Sunday morning, reported PTI.

Ten bodies were found hanging and blindfolded, while a 75-year-old woman's body was found on the floor, the police was quoted as saying by PTI.

According to Rajesh khurana, Joint CP Central Range, Delhi Police, "Bodies of seven women and four men, including three teenagers have been found. We are investigating from all possible angles, we are not ruling out anything."

"Prima facie, we suspect they committed suicide but we are also investigating the case with other possible angles of homicide as well. We are also checking the CCTV footage," another senior police officer said.

According to sources, all were from the same family and owned a grocery shop.

The family ran a grocery shop and plywood business out of their double-storey home in Sant Nagar, in north Delhi's Burari's area.

"Their shop would open by 6 am every morning but when it did not till 7.30 am today, a neighbour went to check and later informed the police after finding most of them hanging from the grill ceiling," the officer said, adding a probe is underway.

No suicide note has been recovered yet.



later in the day, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the site of the incident to take a stock of the situation.
