Astroturf | Don’t let your ego derail you

I had a chance encounter with the head of a well-established businessman group during one of my outstation visits. Out of curiosity, he sought my advice on his future business prospects, and the probable time of his son’s marriage. Seeing the astrological pointers, I advised him to on full alert. For, he was due for unforeseen problems that may unsettle him. “What unforeseen problems? As on date, we are strong enough to withstand any pressure. Even when I was short of resources, I successively managed to overcome the odds coming my way. So, why do I fear?”

“You don’t need to fear. All that is needed is to be on the alert so that any impending problems could be dealt with intelligently. And it is not just about you as a person doing good or bad in the emerging times. There are times when overall environmental conditions and the work atmosphere become such that it becomes difficult to avert its consequences at individual level. The astrological pointers are just indicative of the possibility of a difficult time. At such moments, even your trusted patrons fail to come to your aid. You don’t need to take astrological prediction as the final irreversible word. But given the adverse pointers, it will, however, be advisable to avoid any speculative initiatives, and exercise care and caution even during usual financial and business dealings.  Following which, situation may not go out of your hands, if ever confronted with adverse situation.” I suggested.

I could sense that it was difficult for the man marked for his rags to riches story to digest my advisory. “I don’t think there remain any possibility of business environment going bad, as the overall statistics suggest that our economy is going strong.” The man countered.  “Well, I am not equipped to discriminate upon the economic indices. Only time ahead will present the real picture.  Remember, when a dip begins for whatever reasons, it becomes difficult to contain the downslide. But what’s the harm being on guard?” I responded.

As time passed by, overall business environment of the country began to defy economic indices earlier quoted by the government agencies. Credibility of financial institutions too was hit hard.  Since the man did not pay any attention to my advisory, he continued with his speculative initiatives, which thus far had granted him continued success. No wonder, as the business environment went adverse, the man’s business too got hit hard. Following which, the financial institutions and the market forces no longer trusted his words. And things went from bad to worse, in fact totally slipped out his hands. As on date he is faced with a grave situation.

Let us look at man’s astrological pointers. In his natal chart Karmakaraka Saturn locks horns with its dire enemies the Sun, Mars, and Moon. It implies that whenever progression of the planets and astronomically relevant referral points, as well as the transit take negative turn, the man may become due for bad time. No wonder when transit Saturn cast its 10th aspect first on the natal Sun, it put him at odds with those in position of authority.  His confidence got hit. Given the fact that the Sun happens to be the 11th lord marked with friends, benefactors, and fulfilment of desires, he failed to enjoy their unquestioned support. Also, his initiatives met with resistance. Saturn then crossed path with fiery Mars as well as Moon the 10th lord identified with career prospects. The overall business environment and the work atmosphere became most uncomfortable. The financial institutions and market forces no longer came to his aid. Consequently, many off his business ventures came to its grinding halt, leaving behind a heavy debt burden. In fact, he has fallen into a debt trap.

Saturn incidentally happens to be the lord of the 4th and 5th houses respectively identified with domestic atmosphere and children. The man was advised not to get his son married till he attains the age of 30 so that he becomes matured enough to withstand the subtlety of marital life. Otherwise, his marriage may go bad if it is solemnized early.  But guided by his convention wisdom, he wished to settle his son early. And as predicted, that went bad, which again cost him heavily. It has been experienced that more often than not, if one tastes continued success, ego overtakes the mind. One then begins to carry the tendency of having become unassailable. That is when one becomes vulnerable to be taken for a ride. So it happened with this man.
