Proposal mooted for Press Club in several Haryana districts

The Haryana Government on Saturday said it is considering a proposal to provide land for setting up Press clubs in various districts of the State.

“Any proposal received in this regard from journalist organisations working in the districts, would be considered,” said Chief Minister Manohar Lal while presiding over a meeting of District Information and Public Relations Officers in Gurugram.

On this occasion, online application system was launched for receiving applications from mediapersons for pension on website

saralharyana.gov.com.

Soon, applications would also be invited on this website for accreditation of mediapersons. The Chief Minister got an online application form for pension from Mahavir Mittal, a journalist of Jind.

He said Information and Public Relations Officers should maintain good relations with journalists so that people continue to get information on the development works and welfare policies of the government through mediapersons. “In future, whenever I visit any district, I would definitely visit the media centre there”, he added.

Manohar Lal said the present State Government had launched various schemes, projects and policies for the welfare of the people. If there is any feedback regarding these schemes and policies, it should be shared directly with the government so that in future, these could be further improved and people could get more benefits.

Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sameer Pal Srow, said the way deputy commissioners did night stay in  villages, the District Information and Public Relations Officers and Assistant Information and Public Relations Officers would, along with their teams, would also hold meetings with sarpanches at block level, and prepare stories on the successful works carried out by them in their respective areas, and get these published.

Besides, the Ek Sudhar Programme Cell would prepare films on the achievements and development works of the present state government and ensure their screening.

Others present at the meeting included Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Rajiv Jain, Chairman, Haryana Housing Board, Jawahar Yadav, Principal OSD to Chief Minister, Neeraj Daftuar, and other senior officers of the department.
