MANGALURU/BENGALURU: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday returned to Bengaluru after his 12 -day long rejuvenation session at Shanthivana yoga and naturopathy centre at Ujire.

After his exit from the centre at 11 am, he went to Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple where he performed Shatarudrabhisheka puja and had prasadam (lunch) there. Former minister Abhaychandra Jain and MLC Ivan D'Souza accompanied him.

However, Siddaramaiah who has been in news over tapes in which he expressed displeasure over fresh budget and raising doubts over the longevity of the coalition government, refused to speak to media who had assembled in large numbers outside the temple. He waved at the large number of people gathered outside the temple.

From Dharmasthala he drove to Kavoor in Mangaluru where he inaugurated a students hostel constructed by Karavali Kurubara Sangha where he was also honoured. Even here, he refused to talk to media saying he will call a press conference if he has anything to say. Later, he flew to Bengaluru from the airport.

Siddu sheds 3 KG
Shanthivana CMO Dr Prashanth Shetty said that Siddaramaiah who underwent a 12-hour rigorous yoga and naturopathy session for over 12 days had shed over 3 kg of weight. He said the ex-CM stuck to the timetable and did not miss any sessions. He easily mingled with other people in the hospital.

Cong leaders to meet Siddu today
Veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge is likely to meet Siddaramaiah on Friday as Congress high command is said to have asked him to convey the party's concerns about Siddaramaiah's statements which had caused discomfiture to coalition partners. The meeting also attains significance as Siddaramaah is set to chair the meeting of Coalition Coordination Committee to be held on July 1.
