A member of the animal welfare board lodged a complaint with the Nelamangala police alleging that her car was blocked by two vehicles in an attempt to prevent her from stopping a truck that was transporting cattle illegally to a slaughter house.

The incident occurred on Thursday around 4 a.m. The official, Josine Antony, was driving to Tumakuru. She saw a truck filled with cattle heading towards Bengaluru.

She took a U-turn and started following the truck, but realised that she was being tailed by two cars. In her statement to the police, she said that the drivers of the cars blocked her.

As soon as the truck crossed the toll gate, the cars sped away.

“She noted down the registration number of the cars and filed a complaint,” said the police.
