Train delays

There are delays of up to 20 minutes on the Pakenham line due to a faulty train. 

Earlier delays on the Upfield and Lilydale lines have cleared.

Asthmatics warned after lack of wind, thick fog affects air quality

The fog that featured in many pretty photos of Melbourne in last few days was actually pollution from wood heaters and other sources due to still air conditions. 

"[It] may be unhealthy for sensitive groups... including people over 65, children 14 years and younger, pregnant women and those with existing heart or lung conditions," the Environmental Protection Agency said. Read more.

Three Victorians killed falling off ladders every year

The deaths have almost exclusively been men aged over 55 who have fallen while doing odd jobs at home, according to research by The Alfred hospital reported in The Age in 2016.

A 57-year-old man died in hospital after falling from a ladder at a Mill Park factory yesterday.
