Police squad finds 68 missing people

Surat: The inspector general (IG) of police, Surat range, had recently set up a squad on missing people.
The squad collects data on missing people before launching a search for them. According to data available, 192 people were missing in 2016 and 206 in 2017 from Surat range. The police squad has been successful in locating 68 missing people since the time it was set up. At least 11 missing people had died, but their families didn’t know about it.

The police squad was able to get this information and passed it on to their respective families. The squad is still trying to locate families of 21 missing people who are now under its protection, sources said.
