PFC sanctions Rs 2,626 cr to RRVUNL for upgradation of two plants

PFC sanctions Rs 2,626 cr to RRVUNL for upgradation of two plants New Delhi: Government-owned power sector financer, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), on Friday announced extending Rs 2,626 crore of additional financial assistance to Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL), the state government’s power generation company, for the purpose of environment upgradation works, PFC said.

According to PFC, including the additional assistance, the cumulative sanction of PFC for these two projects amounts to Rs 10,218 crore.

“This financial assistance totaling to Rs 2,626 crore is mainly for installation of Flue-Gas Desulphurisation plant and Selective Catalytic Reactor as part of environmental upgradation works at ongoing super-critical thermal power projects at Suratgarh and Chhabra having a capacity of 2x660 Mw each,” PFC said.

The loan documents for the additional assistance was executed in the presence of Rajeev Sharma, chairman and managing director (CMD) at PFC, and N K Kothari, CMD at RRVUNL.
