LUCKNOW: A sub-inspector of Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) posted at Ghazipur police station of Lucknow allegedly tried to breach the security of the secretariat without a valid entry pass.

The SI indulged in a brawl with the security personnel deployed there. A probe has been ordered in the case.

Security inspector (Secretariat) Shiv Bahadur Singh has lodged a complaint in the Hazratganj police station accusing the SI of hindering a government official from discharging his duty and also using abusive language.

According to the police, the LIU SI identified as Virendra Singh tried to enter from gate number 1 of the secretariat and indulged in a verbal spat with the securitymen when he was asked to show the entry pass. A police team from Hazratganj Kotwali and in charge of secretariat security, Shiv Bahadur Singh reached the scene.

The SI was later handed over to the police.

CO (Hazratganj) Abhay Mishra said a case was registered against Singh and a sub-inspector Subhash Kumar has been asked to probe the case. He said the LIU cop had also tried to sneak into the secretariat from gate number 2 on Wednesday and was not allowed entry. "He had reached the secretariat gate around 12.15pm on Thursday again," he said.
