HYDERABAD: Amid feelers coming from Delhi that elections might be held early, the TRS and the Congress asked their respective cadres to get ready for early polls. The two parties have already begun the exercise of identifying good candidates from their parties in each Assembly segment to contest the ensuing elections.

A day after IT Minister KT Rama Rao visited Delhi and met Prime Minister Modi, the pink party leadership on Thursday directed all its leaders to activate the cadres in each Assembly segment for early polls. None other than IT Minister KT Rama Rao, while addressing his party cadres at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, asked party rank and file to get ready for “early polls”.

In this backdrop, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to give the much-needed impetus to his party workers by addressing a public meeting at Gadwal on Thursday. After laying the foundation of Gattu Lift Irrigation Scheme in Jogulamba-Gadwal district, KCR will address the public meeting at Gadwal.

Similarly, in a communique sent to party districts’ presidents and mandal-level leaders, TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday alerted party cadres that general elections and Assembly polls might be advanced. According to him, Congress high command is of the view that the Centre might go for holding simultaneous polls for both Lok Sabha and State Assemblies either in October or November. Hence, he asked leaders to hold door-to-door meets in every village.

Later, in a live interaction with Congress workers on Facebook, Uttam said, “All Congress workers should be ready to face and win the elections. All of you enrol on Shakti App, a special platform designed to strengthen the organisation at a national level. It would make it easier for both party leaders and workers to share their videos, pictures and messages.”

Rythu Bandhu
Some leaders in TRS say that their party leadership if they opt for early polls, will ensure that the polls are held only after the distribution of second round of Rythu Bandhu cheques to farmers scheduled to be given in November for Rabi crop.
