2 minors among 3 auto-lifters arrested near Chhola Mandir

Crime branch police have nabbed three vehicle-lifters including two minors and one adult, who bought two-wheeler and recovered three two-wheelers and six mobile phones worth Rs 3 lakh from their possession from Chhola Mandir area on Wednesday.

According to the police, acting on a tip off a man with a scooter without registration number a man was detained from Chhola Mandir area and when he was asked regarding the documents of the bike he failed to provide the documents and confessed that his nephews steal bike and he used to sell the stolen two wheelers.

The nabbed accused was identified as Ravishankar alias Raja (35) of Hoshangabad, while one of his nephew was identified as Rohan Wasudev(19) and one nephew was found minor and the fourth accused was also found to be minor.

Based on the investigation police nabbed the remaining accused. During the investigation the minor confessed that they have stolen two wheelers and later three two wheelers were recovered and six mobile phones from their possession.

The police registered a case under section 379 and 411 of the IPC.  The accused would be questioned regarding other crimes.

During the investigation police found that the gang had engaged minor as they could easily enter house evading suspicion. The gang used to target vacant houses while the two wheelers were used to search for places where burglary and stealing could be done easily.

Police said that the number of other vehicles stolen and disposed by the gang would be investigated.
