State Cong Spokespersons get lessons in public speaking

A training workshop of State and district-level Spokespersons of Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress party was held here at Congress Bhawan on Thursday.

Senior leaders of the party provided tips to Spokespersons with the directive to be on the offensive from now onwards in order to grill the ruling party over a wide set of issues as part of the Assembly poll preparations.

Chhattisgarh In-charge of All India Congress Committee (AICC), P.L. Punia, issued directives to the Spokespersons to remain updated on contemporary issues.

“It is the duty of State-level party spokespersons to convey the issues they raise to the district level units”, he said.

Punia also directed not to make a statement which may spoil the image of the party, he said.

In the meeting it was advised to the Spokespersons to maintain cordial relations with the media persons and maintain polite behaviour with them.

The spokespersons were also asked to come prepared before addressing a press conference and talk to media persons while having complete data and proof on various issues. They were also trained how to be eloquent speakers .

Later, a workshop for frontal organisation Sevadal was also held in which they were appealed to play a key role in formation of next Government of the Congress party after upcoming Assembly polls.

National Chief Convener of Sevadal, Lalji Desai, who was especially present in the workshop, said the activists of Sevadal had to be in front rather than supporting the Congress party from behind as BJP’s frontal organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) does.

He directed the activists of Sevadal to be present in each and every booth in the assembly segments of the State.
