State delegation visits Germany, Switzerland

A high level delegation led by HRD Minister Neera Yadav completed its study tour of Germany and Switzerland on June 27.  The delegation included Secretary Urban Development department Ajoy Kumar Singh; Mission Director Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society, Ravi Ranjan and PS to Minister Abhay Kumar Sinha.

The preparations of the study tour were done during the MoU signed by the State government with European Foundation of India  during Global Investors’ Meet 2017 so that the delegation could visit maximum companies and study their works, operations. The State has already signed an MoU with german firm Siemens. As per Siemens study centres have been set up at BIT Sindri and five Polytechnic institutes, where every year 11,000 students have to be trained and made eligible for jobs. 13 more centres will be set up soon which will train 33,000 students.

In the Germany, Switzerland and Austria model vocational courses are very important. There are several institutes that run on their own and some run with government aid but all companies’ certificates are accredited and world class. Training system is dual, which involves class room teaching and practical knowledge. Apart from technical knowledge internship in companies is mandatory, which gives overall exposure to the student.

 During the tour in Germany the companies visit included LD Didactic (Automobile Sector), Carl Luisburg (Health Care and Hospitality), GSISLV (Hightech welding), GI Tech (Urban Mobilization Water Management), DMG Mori Academy (CNC Automation).
