JGU conferred 'Diamond' rating by QS I-Gauge

The UK-based (QS), a higher rating project, has awarded (JGU) the Diamond rating in recognition of the varsity's various parameters including teaching quality and employability of its students.

Besides awarding with an overall rating, I-GAUGE has also given the varsity, the highest ratings in six areas--teaching and learning, employability, facilities, social responsibility, accreditation and entrepreneurship.

However, it got "Gold" in faculty quality and "Silver" in research.

Ashwin Fernandes, the of IGAUGE and for in South Asia, said in a release that the varsity's ranking in the QS BRICS University Rankings 2018 followed by the Diamond rating is noteworthy.

C Raj Kumar, the of JGU, said that the paradigm shift in the Indian higher system is being promoted through efforts to create world class universities in both the public and the private sector.

"We have launched various initiatives to improve the quality of research at JGU. At present our focus is to further lower the faculty and student ratio from the current 1:30. We plan to increase research grants and reward faculty members for their published research work," Kumar, said.
