KOZHIKODE: PWD Minister G Sudhakaran on Thursday lashed out at the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) for reinstating membership of actor Dileep. Urging the association to go for introspection and self-correction, the minister said that the decision to reinstate Dileep, who is accused in a criminal case, should have been taken after contemplating the same.

"AMMA showed unnecessary haste in the matter. The association should have taken a decision after thinking carefully," said the Minister, while talking to reporters in Kozhikode.

While criticizing Dileep, Sudhakaran said he was 'arrogance personified' and alleged that the Malayalam film industry was under the control of a Kochi-centered lobby. "Personally, I don't have a good opinion of Dileep. My opinion was the same earlier also and is not going to change. Dileep has forgotten his days of early hardships after making money from movies," the Minister said. "We cannot forget what he did to Thilakan," he added.

"The activities of AMMA and its artists are in such a way that it doesn't suit Cultural Kerala," the minister said.

Saying the actors should not think they can do anything using political influence and money power, the minister also opined left MLA's Mukesh and KB Ganesh Kumar should correct their misunderstandings.
