The project in Kadapa will be a reality soon’

Terming the fast being undertaken by TDP leaders C.M. Ramesh and ‘B.Tech’ Ravi demanding establishment of a steel plant in Kadapa as a “farce,” BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Wednesday said the project would be a reality under the BJP-led NDA government.

Addressing party workers at the district general body meeting in Anantapur, Mr. Lakshminarayana said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu knew well that the Centre was taking steps to make the steel plant project in the Rayalaseema region a reality.

“The TDP leaders are enacting the drama in a desperate bid to hijack the credit for the sanction of the project,” he said.

‘False propaganda’

He called upon the cadre to work with renewed vigour to expose the “false propaganda” of the TDP against the Narendra Modi government that the BJP leadership was vindictive towards A.P.

“There is a need to make people aware about the Central government- sponsored schemes, as the TDP is claiming credit for the same,” he said.

He said the drought-prone Anantapur district received maximum funding under various schemes. It was the BJP that had played a vital role in getting the Central University to the district, Mr. Lakshminarayana said.

Earlier, Mr. Lakshminarayana entered the district from Bengaluru. He was received by leaders and cadre at Penugonda.

He is scheduled to participate in a community dinner at a Dalitwada in Anantapur town.
