300 villagers booked for Hansi clash

HISAR: In the clash over water in Hansi area’s Dhani Peeranwali village that took place late on Monday, the police have booked three injured persons of one of the rival group and around 300 unknown villagers for rioting, unlawful assembly, firing under the Arms Act on the complaint of Sushil, cousin of injured sarpanch representative Mahender Ghodela. All named persons have been admitted at the government hospital, Hansi.

The conflict started between villagers of Dhani Peeranwali and its neighboring village Puthi Mangal Khan in which eight persons had been injured, six motorcycles and one pumping machine burnt and two motorcycles damaged.

On Wednesday morning, a joint panchayat of Dhani Peeranwali, Dhani Peeran and Dhani Kumharan villages demonstrated in front of the city police station, Hansi, demanding arrest of the assaulters and compensation for their burnt and damaged motorcycles. Leader of the joint panchayat Rajender, sarpanch of Dhani Kumharan, said this clash had started when villagers of Dhani Peeranwali were pumping water from Rajwaha to their waterworks tank for drinking purpose with the permission of the public health and irrigation department officials late on Monday.

“All three accused are lying in the government hospital and we have provided a 60-person name list to the police, who were found involved in this case. But the police have not arrested them,” he added. They also demand security at Dhani Peeranwali village.

Investigation officer of this case ASI Naresh Kumar said, “We will obtain fitness certificate from doctors for the three who were named in FIR and after their statement will arrest others.
