The actor says that she is going through the best phase of her life. “I love this phase the most. I am very happy and satisfied with the choices I have made in my life, both professionally and personally. I have always looked forward for such a life, where I can be at home, take care of my family to the fullest and be there for them.”
Excerpts:
What made you do sign “Qayamat Ki Raat”?
The first reason for being a part of “Qayamat Ki Raat” has to be the fact that it is a Balaji Telefilms’ show. I have been a great fan of Balaji right from childhood. And I have watched nearly all their shows. The second reason was that I really liked the brief that was given to me. The detailing, scripting, writing, everything seems right about this show. So I was actually looking forward for to it.
There are a lot of shows these days that explore supernatural genre...
As a viewer, when I look at something that is supernatural or thriller/ fantasy genre, it attracts me. It’s like every episode has some or the other plot twist and that is what excites me. The drama quotient is very high and works like an x-factor. However, I feel just like all other genres, there is a long way ahead for supernatural as well.
How well are you aware of the television scenario?
To be honest, I keep track of all the television shows that are happening – be it saas-bahu, thrillers, comedy (chuckles). And this is mainly because I am a part of this television industry.
One should be aware of everything that is happening around them, so I watch them all. And I really enjoy dance reality shows. That is something I surely watch with a personal choice and preference.
In a world, where people are more into remakes and adaptations, don’t you think originality has lost its value?
It depends on the way you look at it. On one side, if someone says that originality is missing, I would say if there is a remake of something that is a classic, the new age audience can also enjoy it. And because of technological advancements, better work can be presented to the audience.
How excited are you about your debut in the Hindi film industry?
I am very excited about “Paltan” because that is something I had never expected. I mean Bollywood was never my priority. I never tried to get into Bollywood.
It all just happened by having faith in destiny. I was offered a role which was in my comfort zone and I am really happy about it. The best part is, I am working with J.P Datta sir. He is one of the reputed directors of our industry and has given us some really memorable films.
