Jai was warned once, had his licence suspended the second time, and after catching him violating traffic rules for yet another time on Tuesday, the city police decided to punish him differently: by making him speak about the importance of obeying the rules of the road, the video of which has gone viral.

Jai’s car was intercepted on College Road in Nungambakkam for keeping a loud silencer that is not permitted. When the police personnel asked him about it, he apologised. He was slapped with a fine of Rs 1,500 and was directed to remove it forthwith or have his vehicle confiscated. 

Later, they made him speak about traffic rules and captured it on video. 

In that, Jai is seen standing behind his car along with a traffic inspector and advising youngsters. “Elderly persons, patients and children suffer due to such silencers. If anyone uses this, the police would seize the car,” Jai says in the video clip.
