Telangana pegs credit plan at about 1.36 lakh crore for 2018-19

HYDERABAD: Telangana has pegged its annual credit plan for 2018-19 at about 1.36 lakh crore for the year, out of which 31.08 per cent will be crop loans.

During the last financial year, out of term lending target Rs 14,447 crores to agriculture, banks achieved only Rs 10,973 crores, the State Level Banker's Committee (SLBC) said in it's annual credit plan for the year 2018-19 released here on Thursday.

In his address on the occasion, SLBC President J Swaminathan said in the current financial year(2018-19), Agriculture segment has a major share of 63 per cent of priorty sector at RS 58,063 crores and MSME segment has a share of 23 per cent to Rs 16,465 crores.

This year, based on NABARD's Potential Linked Plan, a moderate increase in disbursed target to Rs 15,568 crores has been projected.

He requested bankers to encourage investment credit and achieve the targets.

During the quarter ended March 2018, the total deposits of the banks grew by RS 17,248 crores (4.36 per cent).
