10 more men nabbed for hijacking bus

Three days after a group of three students was nabbed for allegedly hijacking an MTC bus, city police arrested 10 more people, including eight college students.

CHENNAI:Three days after a group of three students was nabbed for allegedly hijacking an MTC bus, city police arrested 10 more people, including eight college students.Among the arrested were E Deva, 20, and R Santhosh, 23, who graduated from a city college last year, and the others were N Jayakumar, 20, and R Vijayakumar, M Vijay,  G Ajay, P Singarasu, G Nandakumar, S Johnston and R Raghu Ranjth, all 19 years old.

On Friday, a group of college students boarded the bus when it halted near Pachaiyappa’s College and 20 other students coming on motorbike, followed the bus and blocked it. The students were raising slogans and scaring away the motorists and pedestrians. The conductor alerted the police who rushed to the spot and nabbed three students - N Dinesh, 19, of Anna Nagar, J Ezhaiarasan, 19, , both students of BCom and L Ganeshan, 18, a student of BCA.
